In July 2022, I completed my doctorate at the EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht “The Birth and Rise of the Chief Digital Officer – Four Essays on the Digital Change Agent”.

My research focuses on the strategic leadership of digital transformation. More specifically, on how leaders deal with the challenges arising from that. Typical questions, therefore, are: How do leaders cope with, maneuver, and make decisions regarding digital transformation, their managerial roles, digital projects, and other related challenges?

I aim to generate state-of-the-art strategic leadership and digital transformation knowledge that makes significant theoretical contributions and derives practical recommendations for leaders. Mainly, I focus on strategic leaders' social, behavioral, cognitive, and emotional influences, challenges, and coping with digital transformation. To reach this goal, I focus on qualitative research methods referring to interviews, the Gioia and Eisenhardt method.
